EMJ, a leading medical publisher, is searching for an enthusiastic Reporter to drive our hourly SEO news strategy, covering the latest breakthroughs across 18 therapy areas. As a Reporter, you’ll research, write, and report top-trending stories, attend major European congresses, and conduct interviews with thought leaders on camera to keep healthcare professionals informed.

Who you are:
- Driven by News & Results: You possess a genuine hunger for news, are driven to share compelling stories, and are results-oriented, focused on the impact of your work.
- Skilled Communicator: You can communicate complex topics clearly and accurately to a professional audience, with excellent writing and editing skills and attention to detail.
- SEO & Digital Savvy: You are proficient in content SEO, Google Trends, and WordPress, understanding how to drive visibility in a fast-growth environment.
- Confident On-Camera Presence: You are comfortable and engaging when reporting on camera for interviews and video content.
- Highly Organised & Proactive: You possess strong organisational skills, effectively managing tight deadlines and multiple projects with a proactive approach to identifying and covering emerging trends, and you thrive while working in a fast-paced environment.
- Medical Acumen or Relevant Degree (Plus): A bachelor's degree in journalism, publishing, or a scientific discipline or knowledge of medical terminology and the ABPI code of practice is a plus.
What you’ll do:
- Produce Engaging SEO Medical News: Source and write SEO news on medical research, public health policies, and global healthcare trends daily.
- Deliver Compelling On-Camera Reports: Report on camera in an engaging and compelling manner, bringing medical news to life.
- Publish Accurate & Optimised Content: Publish medically accurate articles in EMJ’s house style, ensuring optimal search engine visibility.
- Provide International Congress Coverage: Attend international congresses and press briefings, delivering written and video coverage of key events, making a real impact on our content.
- Conduct Key Leader Interviews: Confidently conduct on-camera and written interviews with Key Opinion Leaders and healthcare experts, contributing to high-value content.
- Monitor & Report on Emerging Trends: Track emerging health trends and provide insightful coverage through EMJ’s unique perspective.
- Collaborate for Multi-Platform Content: Work with the editorial team to adapt content for web, email, and social media channels, ensuring broad reach.
- Contribute to Podcast Growth & Network Building: Support the growth of EMJ’s podcast series and build a network of specialists across diverse clinical fields.
Key Information
- Salary: £30,000 - £33,000 (based on experience)
- Hours: 8.30am – 5pm, Mon-Fri
- Working pattern: Hybrid min 3 days in the office (FT in office during probation)
- Reporting to: Managing Editor
- Location: Our buzzing London/Moorgate office
We offer a hybrid work environment, balancing office and remote work. To support your training and development during your initial three-month probation, this period will be fully office-based, five days a week. Following this, we anticipate a regular office presence of at least three days a week to maintain collaboration and team connection.

Your CV will be reviewed by the Recruitment team. If successful, we will be in touch to arrange a 20-30 min video call. Following this there will be a writing task and a 2-stage interview process, one focused on competencies and one on the EMJ values.
