The Accountant plays a key role in providing accurate, timely, and insightful financial information to support business decision-making. This includes delivering robust management accounts, ensuring financial accuracy, and providing analysis to drive growth, profitability, and efficiency.
Key Information:
Salary: £45,000-£50,000
Location: London/Moorgate office
Working pattern: Hybrid, 3 days in the office (5 days in the office during 3 month probation)
Hours: 8.30am – 5pm, Monday - Friday
Reporting to: Finance Director
What You’ll Do:
Month-End & Management Accounts: Lead the month-end close process, producing accurate management accounts, journals, reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and departmental reporting.
Financial Reporting & Analysis: Deliver monthly reporting, budget and forecast variance analysis, and insightful commentary on performance, risks, and opportunities.
Balance Sheet & Cash Management: Maintain balance sheet integrity through robust reconciliations, while monitoring cash flow forecasts and funding requirements across entities.
Payroll & Commission Management: Oversee payroll and commission processing, ensuring accuracy, reconciliation, and fully supported balances.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts, partnering with stakeholders to track and improve performance.
Team Development: Coach and support the Finance Assistant through regular feedback, development plans, and increased responsibility.
Process Improvement & Controls: Continuously enhance financial controls, reporting, automation, and operational efficiency.
KPI, Tax & Compliance: Own cash-in KPI reporting and ensure all tax, compliance, and statutory obligations are met accurately and on time.
Who You Are:
Qualified Accountant: ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualified, with strong commercial finance experience.
Month-End & Reporting: Experienced in managing management accounts, journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
Analysis & Excel: Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel capabilities and a data-driven approach.
Business Partnering: Confident communicator, able to influence stakeholders and translate financial data into commercial insights.
