Sales Director

American Medical Journal (AMJ) has officially landed in the USA- and we’re just getting started. Our momentum is strong, our growth is exceeding expectations, and now we’re ready for the next bold step. We’re searching for a driven Sales Director who will lead AMJ's commercial plan. This role combines operational delivery aligned with the agreed sales strategy.
This is a hands-on, emerging leadership role. You will personally manage and grow strategic accounts while also leading, coaching, and developing the wider sales team to consistently deliver against ambitious commercial targets. You will work closely with Marketing, Editorial, and Customer Success to ensure exceptional client delivery and alignment across the full customer lifecycle.

Sales Leadership & Revenue Growth
Drive new business acquisition and expand Top 10 accounts through retention and upsell
Deliver consultative, insight-led solutions aligned to client needs
Represent AMJ at key Therapy Area (TA) congresses and industry events
Team Leadership & Management
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team
Run effective 1:1s, pipeline reviews, and deal reviews
Provide hands-on sales support, including joint calls and closing
Strategy Execution & Planning
Execute SLT-defined sales strategy across the U.S. business
Contribute insight to planning cycles and own quarterly performance reviews
Maintain strong, senior internal stakeholder relationships
Performance, Reporting & Operations
Deliver clear weekly performance reporting and forecasting
Drive consistent CRM usage and standardised sales processes
Identify risks early, remove blockers, and keep delivery on track

About You
Essential Experience & Skills
Minimum 5 years’ experience in B2B sales, account management, and expansion selling
At least 1 years’ experience managing and developing sales teams
Hands-on commercial leader who balances strategic thinking with execution
Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Data-driven, with strong forecasting and performance reporting capability
Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable in a high-growth environment
Client-first mindset with a commitment to exceptional service
Commercially ambitious with a clear growth orientation
Proven ability to coach, train, and develop others
Preferred Experience
Familiarity with medical journal publishing or life sciences marketing
Experience working with agencies or pharma / biotech teams
Key Information
Hours: 8.30am – 5pm, Monday - Friday
Reporting to: Managing Director
Location: Miami office
Working pattern: 5 days in the office
